Education & training

MSW, UC Berkeley, 2019

I have over eight years of experience providing mental health support to teens, adults, and families who have endured traumas ranging from sexual and physical abuse, sexual exploitation, substance abuse, mental health emergencies, foster care involvement, incarceration, systemic oppression, spiritual abuse, and the death of loved ones.

I am also experienced in supporting people facing day-to-day life stressors like starting college, romantic breakups, job difficulties, and relational challenges.

A bit about me.

I grew up in East San José, California, in a vibrant immigrant community overflowing with playfulness, rhythm, and resilience.

The love and sacrifice of my family enabled me to pursue my dreams, becoming the first woman in my family to complete high school, college, and grad school.

I use she/her pronouns and identify as a woman of color with Filipino and Mexican ancestry. I feel alive hiking with my loved ones, salsa dancing, and enjoying my favorite cuisine—Japanese Hot Pot.

Values

As someone who embodies both privileged and oppressed identities, I strive for constant self-reflection to continuously grow and reduce the harm I can cause as a service provider.

I affirm people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious creeds, physical abilities, and beyond.

Professional

In addition to my private therapy practice, I serve as a social worker for a nonprofit agency that provides support to adults who have faced wrongful incarceration.
